N.P.H.S. OLD BOYS
Stratford Branch Meeting Decisions to visit the school on a sui' able date, to organise a week-end visit to tlie Stratford mountain house and to arrange a golf match with other brandies were made at the annual meeting of the Stra' ford branch of the New Plymouth High Scool Old Boys’ Association. Sub-committees were set up in connection w? h each proposal. A successful year w.as experienced, stated the report. The balance-sheet revealed a profit on the year’s working of £9 17s .6d One small dance was held during tire year. The annual reunion dinner In June, which resulted in a profit of £5 12s 6d, was a marked success. I’here was a financial membership of 20 and the committee was. of 1 he opinion that in view of the number •f old boys in the district the membership was far too low. The main object of tlie branch wag to be in a position >to assist the school, and without adequate support the work was greatly hampered. Among the works row being subscribed for l»y cld boys were the new school library and an old boys’ scholarship to which the Stratford branch had not subscribed, it was Officers elected’ were: Patron, Mr W. H. Moyes; president, Mr E. P. Pridham; vice-presidents, Messrs G. H. W. Ewing and G. Boon; joint secretaries, Messrs C. G. W. Henderson and R. Clayton; honorary treasurer, Mr T. L Penn; honorary auditor, Mr F. P. D. Jefferies; committee, Messrs T. Death (Pukengahu), E. Cleland (Kohuratahi), J. Sexiton (Cardiff), I. McCullum (Tariki), R. Cresswell (Pembroke Road), J. Ryan (MidhirS'), L. Marfell (Toko), K. S. Ewing, C. Kidson, B. Bellringer, J. Lucas and G. C. Grace.
