PERSONAL.

The Governor-General, Viscount Galway, arrived at Auckland yesterday from Rotorua and went into residence at Government House. Hon. F. Jones, Postmaster-General returned to Wellington from the north to-day. Hon. Mr Justice Ostler left Wellington to-day for New Plymouth, where he will preside over the quarterly sessions of the Supreme Court, which will open on Monday. Sir Charles Norwood, at a meeting this week of the Wellington executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, w°.s congratulated by the president, Mr M. G. C. McCaul, on behalf of the chambers of commerce, on the honour ..recently conferred upon him by the King.
