YOUTH IN POLITICS. The popular cry for young men in the political field should not blind the community to the service which the older men had given to the country in its times of crisis, said Mr S. G. Holland, M.P., at Mount Eden, Auckland. He questioned whether young men could have brought the country through the trials of the depression as well as the older administrators. “We must recognise that the so-called old men did a marvellous job of work,’’ added Mr Holland. What he envisioned was a virile Nationrl Party built from a blend of youth and experience. TESTING OF CARS. A warning is issued by the Transport Department that the period for the issue of certificates of fitness for vehicles has expired, and that the regulations will be rigidjy enforced. All authorised garages have now the necessary equinment to deal with the issue of certificates, and motorists are advised in their own interests to have their cars tested immediately. It should be noted also that all motor car trailers require separate certificates. Car owners who have not yet secured certificates are liable to a fine not exceeding £5O.
