DOUBLE WEDDING

UHLENBERG-DWYER Brothers Marry Sisters Chrysanthemums in warm sunset ones and foliage, were arranged on the altar, sids rltars and in the sanctuary at St Joseph’s Church, H iwera. on Tuesday, May 11, when two old Noil h and South Taranaki families were united by a cloulile wedding. At a nuptial mass the marriages wer solemnised of Brigld Ellen and Ka- Tilden Zita, the’ sixth and seventh daughters of Mr. andl Mrs. R. Dwyer, Kakaramea, and William G.orge and James Frederick, the ’ IWo youngest sons of Mr. A; Uhlenberg and the late Mrs. Uhlfenberg, of Wuipuku. The Rev Father M. Uhlenberg, Miramar, of Wellington, brother of the bridegrooms, celebrated the nuptials. The sisters of St. Joseph decorated the church, and' Mrs. W. A. Quin played i he wedding music. Entering the church with their Either, the brid: s made a charming pic. ure in their slightly trained gowns of ivory lacquered matt crepe, cut. on classical lines and bl") toned trimly down centre back. Simplicity was, the keynote of each robe. The sleeves were wrist-leng h, the fullness to the elbow being sl'.ished. Tiny rosebuds' trimmed the belts, which were finished with double silver buckles, and each carried a bou. quet of chrysanthemums and roses mingled with maidenhair and asparagus fern. Their veils, which were held' in place with chaplets of orange blossom, the folds of which fell to form over-'rains, x were richly embroidered by two sisters of NVtre Dame des Missions, Rev. Mother T'ar_ cill-0, and Sister M. Flora, a. sister of the brides. The bridfs’ two sisters, Misses Nora and Susan Dwyer, were x thq only bridesmaids. They wore gowns of Holyrood and honey gold jewelled and flor.l printed Swiss crepe respectively. .-The frocks were fash’oned alike, an'd the slim-fl- ting skirts were cut to form slight trains. As the double, group lellu the church Miss Pat McCarty, Tokaora, presented! a silver and floral horSeshoe’ to each bride. ■ About 120 gues s were entertained at a wedding breakfast at, the. Mrs. Dwyer wore a satin.sT'ipedi black r silk , romaine gown, printed with a while themum pattern, under an ensemble coat of silk and a black ha)., land, accessories. She carried a bouquet of iris, salvia and stocks, in tones of violet. She was assisted by Mrs. O’Neill sister of the two bridegrooms, who wore a tailored dark brown coat with hat 'and accessories to tone. Her

Other close relatives present were Miss Mary Dwyer, who wore a black tailor. td suit and accessories; Miss Anne Dwyer, tailored costume and hat in Coronation blue; Mrs p. rtriped frock and dark green, coat and hat. Vocal items were given by Mrs. J. McCarty (Tokaora), Miss May Wilton andi Mr. T. Uhlenberg, Mrs. w" A. Quin being accompanist.

When the bridal pairs left to spend a holiday in the north boGh Mesdanies T. and G. Uhlenberg travelled in chocolate brown tailleurs, with small brown quilled felt hats and all teccetsories, with which one wore a broyn velour top coat, collared in perschaniki fur, and the other a dark forest green coal deeply collared in grey tquirrel. They will live at Waipuku.
