Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., of Marton, has been appointed chairman of the Government Railways Appeal Board.
Sympathy with Councillor W. H. Were in the death of his grandson, who was drowned at Toko yesterday, was expressed at to-day’s meeting of the Stratford County Council.
Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Attorney-Gen-eral, will leave Wellington to-day for Napier and Hastings, where he will meet members of the Hawke’s Bay District Law Soceity.
