ATTACK ON HITLER “Insult To German Nation” Press Association—Copyright. Received May 20, 1. p.m. Berlin, May 19. l/nder the heading “Cardinal uses gutter language,’ Herr Goebbels’ newspaper. Angriff, commenting on Archbishop Mundelein’s (Chicago) description of Hitler as an Austrian paperhanger, says: “ft is a declaration of war and an insult to the entire German nation, including Catholics.” The newspaper adds: “If Archbisop Mundelein is impertinent enough to talk about atrocity stories, and allege that Herr Goebbels asserted that immorality prevailed in all branches of the Catholic churches, he superimposes more dangerous lies upon the first one. Will the Holy See allow him to abuse Germany with impunity?”
