PERSONAL.
Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday morning. Mr D. J. Cummings, Commissioner of Police, who visited Taranaki during the week, left New Plymouth today for the north. Mr J. Dowgray, of Westport, a director of the Bank of New Zealand, arrived at Wellington from the south ; yesterday. Major-General J. E. Duigan, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces, returned to Wellington yesterday from Dunedin. Rev. Clyde Carr, M.P. for Timaru, and president of the New Zealand Labour Party, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the South Island. Dr Walter Hellenthal, German Consul for New Zealand, who arrived at Auckland on Tuesday after a tour of the Pacific, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr T. M. Brooks, Clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, is confined to hit l home through illness. Mr W. Rigg, of the New Plymouth Court staff, is relieving durihg the absence of Mr Brooks. Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, who arrived from the South Island yesterday, will leave Wellington for Nelson to-night. He will meet friends and supporters of the National Party at Motueka to-mor-row, and has similar engagements at Nelson and Blenheim on Saturday and Monday respectively. Mr Hacnil- , ton expects to return to Wellington next Tuesday.
