Old Girls’ Defeat Kaponga The central division women's match between Stratford Old Girls A and Kaponga at Kaponga was a fast, open game spoiled by the weather, Old Girls being superior throughout. From the start. Old Girls took play to Kaponga's 25 and had many unsuccessful shots at goal, H. Guy, Kaponga’s goalie, saving many times. Only one goal, by E. Reeve, was scored in the first halt. In the second half Old Girls attacked nearly all the time. There were several good solo runs, but the forwards w-.re not. combining. After a series of penalty corners M. Foley netted for Old Girls and B. Watkins and E. Reeve also scored.

H. Guy, Kaponga goalie, played a splendid game. For Kaponga. T. Rothe broke up several attacks and E. Bain, went well for the first time out after a lapse of two seasons. F. Bradford was too well marked by A. Clements, Old Girls’ centre half, who was always on the ball. For Old Girls E. Reeve played a much improved game at inside left, and M. Foley, inside right, was an asset. P. Bertie, a new player, also showed promise.
