ITALIAN INVENTOR Claimed To Paralyse Air Transport Rome, May 3. The man wlio invented’ the shortwave radio ray, which, it. is claimed, paralyses aeroplanes, is now under lock and key in a lunatic .asylum in Rome. He tried to blow up the Italian .central broadcasting station. Guido Garcia was a radio genius, apple of the Italian War Ministry’s 1 < ye. and confidant of Count Cinao, .Mussolini’s son-in-law. He conceived a mania, that he must have a chance to try out his ray on a large object. The Intelligence Department of the War Ministry, anxious at the change in him, kept him under close observation. It was discovered that he planned to blow up the broadcasting house. He was seized in one of the huge studios, clutching a hand-gren-ade.
