More Bodies Recovered fress Association —Copyright. Received May 18, 11.30 a.m. Gibraltar, May 17. The remaining three bodies have now been recovered from H.M.S. Hunter, the destroyer which was damaged by an explosion off the Spanish coast. Lieutenant-Commander B. G. Scurfield, commander of the destroyer, said that when the explosion burst the boilers the oil fuel pipes flooded the vessel with burning oil. “We rescued a number of men who were breast-high in the liquid,” he said. “Others were blown straight into the sea. Two bodies were brought ashore by five ratings who volunteered to be lowered into th© oil tank in the submerged part of the destroyer.
