PERSONAL.
Dr. C. R. Lambert, recently appointed Medical Superintendent of the Stratford Hospital Board, was . welcomed at to-day’s meeting of the board by the chairman, Mr T. R. Anderson. Mr C. M. Segedin has been appointed assistant lecturer in mathematics at Auckland University College. Mr Segedin, who is the youngest lecturer at the college, being only 21 years of age, gained a university entrance scholarship from the Auckland Grammar School. Newly appointed Consul of Italy in New Zealand, Commander L. B. Vitali arrived at Wellington yesterday in the- Awatea from Sydney. Commander Vitali was formerly in the Royal Italian Navy, from which he resigned in 1923 with the rank of commander. Miss Essie Ackland, the well-known contralto, will visit Wellington next month under engagement to the National Broadcasting Service. Miss Ackland visited New Zealand some years ago as soloist with the famous Belgian ’cellist, the late M. Jean Gerard y.
