SEQUEL TO JOY-RIDE

Two Men In Blenheim Court Press Association, —Copyright. Blenheim, May 14. A joy-ride that resulted in Blenheim being plunged into darkness for half an hour on a -Saturday evening had a sequel in the Magistrate’s Court today. when John Langdon, of the Aniseed railway construction camp, and George Ronald Dobson, Mahakipawa, pleaded guilty to converting a motorcar valued at £B5 and wilfully damaging a power pole valued at £l9. Dobson was further charged with a breach of a prohibition order and with driving without a- license. A charge of intoxication while in charge of a car was withdrawn. The police stated that a car belonging to Edgar Rowe was removed from the town and crashed into a power pole. In defence it was stated that both defendants had suffered injury. Dobson’s injury to an eye was probably permanent. Remarking that the case apparently rose from a drunken prank, the magistrate, in view of the injuries suffered, decided to admit them to probation.
