Social and Personal Mrs and Miss J. Beal have returned from Auckland. * * * Mrs and Miss M. Lyons have left for Wellington. ♦ * * Mrs A. W. Budgfe has returned from Wellington. * * * Mr and Mrs Bellringer have returned from New Plymouth. * * * Mrs J. Fredric, Brecon Road, was a bridge hostess on Monday. * * * Mrs Galbraith gave a most enjoyable musical evening on Tuesday for her guest, Mrs Smith, of Ashburton. Mrs J. Mark, Brecon Road, has returned by car from a short visit to Auckland. * * * ■.. Mrs Haseldene, of Timaru, formerly of Stratford, is spending a few days with friends on her way hack from a visit to Auckland and New Plymouth. . * * XMrs Beale and Miss Joyce Beale are spending a few days with Miss Wilson on their way back to Wellington. * * * Mrs G. Carter gave a jolly picture and supper party on Coronation night. Those present were: Mr and Mrs Baden Bellringer, Mr and Mrs E. W. McCullough, Mr and Mrs F. Bodie, the Misses M. Wayne (Hawera) ? B. Z. and O. Masters, Mr Kerr (Eltham). The hostess was wearing a becoming frock of jade green marocaln. The evening passed all to quickly with dancing and community singing. * * * Mrs McAllister, Broadway North, who celebrated her ninety-eighth birthday on Tuesday, was the recipient of many congratulations—gifts and--telegrams from old friends and. ~greajt?grand-children..
