Play was then restricted .o an hour and a quarter, owing to the rain. Kerr and Hadlee gave the New Zealand side a useful Hart, scoring 41 in 45 minutes. The wicket favoured the barmen, but the indifferent light was a hand I .* cap. The attendance was 2000. New Zealand in the first inr>ings have scored 56 for the lots of two wickets.
