WONDERFUL DISPLAY
i SCENE OF MAGNIFICENCE • i Mr Savage Had A Memorable j Day Press Association —Copyright. (Received 12.5 p.m.) London, May 13 Tired, but happy, having had the opportunity to be present at the greatest spectacle in his lifetime, MiMi J. Savage did not return ito the ■ Savoy Hotel until 4.30 p.m. He was ! s ill wearing the picturesque Windsor . uniform which he had donned at 7.30 I a.m. in order to arrive at Buckingham Palace by the set time —9 a.m. Like Mr Mackenzie King, of CanI ada, who is also a bachelor, he rode lin a carriage in lonely state. Mr | Savage da id to a representative o£ I the Australian Press Association: i i if I had had a of j course, she would have been with I me. | did feel the need of companionship. I wisih I had had Mr | Nash or Mr Jordan, but it was a | wonderful display. The scene at j t'h e Abbey was magnificent. For | such an immense display to go off I without a hitch is a tribute to the j organising ability of the English. : It was just like one piece of j machinery running smoothly and efficiently. °l was unable, unfortunately, to piclk out any New Zealand cries of greetings from the millions of spectators, because the noise was so terrific. I have certainly got something to remember in the years to come,’’
