The steamer Walcombe, en route to England from Newcastle, New South Wales, via Dakar, with general cargo, is on fire’ in number four hold. While trying to keep the .fire in check by, injecting steam, the vessel is making full f.peed for Cape Town. The Walcombe last 'year wia» sunk in a collision in Florida land was salvaged.
