THEIR MAJESTIES AT THE ABBEY
EXCITED CHEERING CROWDS FINAL REHEARSAL FOR TO-MORROW’S GREAT EVENT (Press Association—Copyright.) Received May 11, 10.40 a.m. London, May 10. Their Majesties the King and Queen gave a luncheon to foreign Royalties and other guests at Buckingham Palace to-day. Crowds broke the police barriers and surged round the Royal car, cheering, when their Majesties unexpectedly visited the Abbey in the afternoon for yet another rehearsal. The Duke of Kent, and the Duke of Gloucester were also present. The object was to rehearse the jjoyal procession to the Coronation theatre (the area immediately in front of the altar). The excitement was intense when their Majesties reappeared after being one and a-half hours in the Abbey. Standing or. the steps of the annexe they waved and smiled at the cheering crowds before entering the car. The morning rehearsal at the Abbey lasted about two hours. Mr M. J. Savage, Mr J. A. Lyons and other Dominion representatives attended.
