SIMPLE CEREMONY
Gathering Of Primary School Children A simple Coron’ation ceremony took place at the Stratford Primary School this afternoon. At the assembly building the children were briefly addressed by the Headmaster, Mr L. J. Furri-e, after which the pupils tang the hymn “O God who made our Empire Great.” At a given signal tlhc Fag was . saluted with drum accompani. ; paniment, following which the I Whole of the pupils declared in unison:—Love God and my Country: | will honour the Flag; ! I will loyally serve the King and always obey my parents, my tea. chers and the laws of th e land.” After the singing of ‘‘God DefendNew Zealand,” six spoken parts, commencing with ‘‘This Land is My Land,” were given by individual scholars. The singing of the National Anthem and cheers for their Majesties and Princess Elizabeth and Princess Mar. garet Rose concluded the ceremony.
