Savage, Prime 'Minister of New Zealand, was a guest at a luncheon arranged by the Chamber of Commerce. Mr Savage, during th e course of a speech, asked: “What is the good of bringing more people to New Zealand to produce more butter while people in Britain are talking about taking less?” “Are you ready to make a deal ■that's What New Zealand is asking, and I think 1 am not far wrong in saying that the whole of the Dominions are asking it to.”
