Miss T. Mcßae, Brecon Road, is leaving for England on May 19. Miss Cora Anderson left this morning for Wellington, en route for the South Island, where she will visit relatives. Mrs O. M. Curtis, Broadway south, left for the South Island this morning, accompanied by her grand-daugh-ter. A London cable message says that the Corporation of London will confer the Freedom of the City on Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage. Mr J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Undersecretary in Charge of Housing, will leave Wellington for Auckland tonight on official business. Sir Edward Hudson-Kinhahan County Cork, Ireland, who has been on a holiday visit to New Zealand, left on his return to England by the Rangitane yesterday. Mr H. von Haast, pro-chancellor of the University of New Zealand, who is to confer the degrees at Canterbury University College to-day (graduation day), left for the south last night. Lieutenant-Colonel N. Fitzherbert, C. C.8.E., who has been on a visit to New Zealand, left yesterday in the Rangitane on his return to London. I Sir John Lamb, K.C.8.. LL,D., a former Undersecretary of State for Scotland, who, with his brother, Mr D. Lamb, has been touring New Zealand left Wellington yesterday for London. Mr A. P. O’Shea, Dominion Secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and Mr H. E. Blyde, North Taranaki president, were present at to-day’s annual meeting of the Stratford sub-proyineial executive. | Appreciation of the assistance [ given to farmers by Mr W. Harris, i Government Stock Inspector, was expressed at to-day’s annual meeting of the Stratford sub-provincial executive, and a resolution was passed thanking him for his efforts and congratui lating him on his promotion. Wing Commander the Hon. R. A. Cochrane, Chief of Air Staff, Wing Commander T. M. Wilkes, Chief Staff Officer (Equipment), and Squadron Leader L. M. Isitt, Chief Staff Officer (Personnel), arrived at Wellington from Wigram yesterday, ; Mr J. Wood, who has left Huiroa to ■ live at Stratford, resigned from the I presidency of the Huiroa branch of ■ meeting on Tuesday night, Mr F. Taythe Farmers’ Union at the annual [ lor being elected in liis place. The i meeting placed on record its appreciation of Mr Wood's services during his term.
