LOYAL ADDRESS TO THEIR MAJESTIES New Zealand Journey Nearly Ended More than seven weeks have elapsed since the mayor and the Girl Guildesi of Wellington dispatched! a • message from the Town Hall on a | long and ardous journey round New 1 Zealand. ’ This message was the loyal adi dress of the Guides of New Zealand ! to His Majesty King George VI and ! Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on the [occasion of their Coronation. Since [ then the message has kept moving from one district to another, and from one province to another. Every district has made its mark and affixed its seal. The Guides have ' carried it over the hills and through ; the valleys, on foot, on bicycle, on i horseback, by train, and by car. One I week it has been reported in Auckland, next week in Poverty Bay, and jso on throughout the North Island. ■ Wherever it has passed, it has been i handled with the greatest care and I dispatch. It has been picked up and ! banded on by the Guides with the ! greatest excitement and with the strictest attention to time and place. Everyone has been at her post, arid so far not a hitch of any kind has marred this very ambitious and enterprising undertaking. The message has crossed to the South Island, it has been received in Invercargill, and has passed Through Central Otago. It is now coming northward once more and moving every day ; I.' rfer to its last halt before it leaves New Zealand on the final stage of its journey. Next Tuesday, the message will arrive by air at Rongotai a‘ 1.45 p.m. from Nelson The last of the King’s messengers will handle it between Rongotai and Government House, where is will be halted for the last time by hjs Excellency Lord Galway.
