Two Important Decisions Press Association —Copyright. InvercargiOß.. May 5. Two important decisions affecting the dairy industry were given by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., to-da.y. Jn one tire Magiis'i’ilate- the opinion of the Department of Labour that it' a dairy factory worker is employed on a statutory half-holiday he must be paid additional pay. In the other case the department proceeded against the Seaward Downs Dairy Factory Company for an alleged breach of the provisions of the award in that the defendant failed to pay the worker a proportionate holiday allowance in accordance with the- provisions of the award. The Magistrate gave his judgment for the department. As both were test cases judgment was given for the plaintiff without penalty.
