ITALO-GERMAN ACCORD “CLOSE AND FRUITFUL” Collaboration In Sincere Spirit Of Peace Press Association —Copyright Received May 6, 10 a.m. Rome, May 5. “Italy and Germany have resolved I to continue their policy of collaboration in a sincere spirit of peace,” declared the Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, at a banquet in honour of the German Foreign Minister, Baron von Neurath. Both countries desired to collaborate with other nations, as both were convinced that there were no insurmountable difficulties in the way. “Our collaboration will continue to be close and fruitful in the interests of the stability, tranquility and security of Europe,” he declared. Baron von Neurath said collaboration between Italy and Germany was not even primarily of interest to their own peoples, but served to ensure general peace. The German Government was convinced the difficulties in the way of European collaboration could be overcome, he added.
