Thorpe left for Auckland last night to be present /at the wedding of their eldest son, Maurice. They were accompanied by their daughter, Miss Nora Thorpe. * * * The members of the Portland Auction Bridge Club were entertained at the residence of Mrs Heslopp yesterday afternoon. The hostess received her guests, wearing a charming frock of floral georgette, and 1 the drawingroom was artistically decorated with golden chrysanthemums and autumn foliagq.
