COAL STRIKE CALLED

A special delegate conference ot tho Mine Workers’ Federation of Great Britain called a national coal strike for May 22, following the breakdown of negotiations ou alleged victimisation at. the Harworth colliery and on the question of union recogpi'lon in the Nottinghamshire coalfield. On April 20 it was announced that in a national ballot the miners, by ■111,546 votes to 61.446. had empowered the federation to resort to national strike action in the event ot failure in these negotiations
