H. R. A mess, Percy Avenue, was wi aring a smart deep purple frock an Friday night, when she entertain'd a few .friends at bridge. She hia<d ome variegated hydrangias in large vases in the drawing room. * * * A number of old friends, drove out to Manaia on Friday afternoon to visft Mrs E. Buist, in her new house. She received them, wearing a very smart Paris model of prune coloured fdule marocain, wiifi a diamiai} e 'buckle, and the drawing room was tastefully iccoraCed with shaded hydrangeas (and -•hrysan'hemums.. Those present w re: Mrs. A. Coleman (Nirs. Buist’s mother), and Mesdames G. Hale, E. S. Rutherfurd, O. Curtis, Roy Curtis, H. Graham, of Midhirst, E. P Hill, of Mangatoki, L. H. Jardine, P. Harrison, J. Fredric, G. Clarke, and the Misses Young and J. Hill (Madgatoki).
