WANGANUI BURGLARIES

Wanganui, April 30J Four burglaries occurred last night in the Aramoho area, three on Somme Parade and one at a Wanganui ; Blast service station, from which about £1 5l in cash was stolen and a tyre lever and a hammer. The tyre lever and hammer w re found in the Duchess Theatre, where entrance was made to a small lockup shop, from whikh swolCs were stolen. Thn burglar also used an implement on the theatre s-afe, but found no cath. The shop of Mr. J. Faith, grocer, was also broken into and a cheque for £ll and cash were stolen. At Dunlop’s service station ’the burglar secured only cigarettes, all the cash having been removed before closing lime.
The police this morning arrested a young man, who is suspected of the burglaries. Ft is understood that a quantity of the stolen propertj- has bloen recovered.
