WORK OF Y.M.C.A.
Extension In Poverty Bay Gisborne, May 1. A start is’ being made by. the Y.M.QA. in Gisborne io extend its work 'to the Coast, and Mr. A. R. Lucas has arrived from New Plymouth to conduct a three months’ survey of hi Tokomaru Bay and Ruatoria areas, on behalf of the Gisborne board of directors. Mr. Lucas will leave to-morrow for Tokomaru Bay, accompanied by the secretary, Mr. L. W. Anderson, who has arranged to return at the end of he week. Mr. Lucas has been <a member of he Y.M.C.A. staff for the past four years as associate secretary, and was also gymnastic instructor to the New Plymouth Boys’ High School. He had valuable -experience while in New Plymouth, which was the first town to amalgamate ths Y.M.C.A. and Y W.C.A., and the exp: riment proved very successful.
