INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM

At the annual meeting of the N’JW Zealand Hockey Association to-night officers elected were: Plaitron, the Governor-General; president, Mr. H. S' J. Goodman; vice-presidents, the I presidents of the district associations; i treasurer, Mr. P. N. Quartermain; | secretary, Mr. W. H. Down; auditor, Mr. A Stewart; management committee, Messrs. R. Gracie, C. S. Bellamy, G. Strack, H. Throp, C. C. Holland, A. F. Preston, and H. E. Bell. A decision to invite a team from the Indian Federation to visit New Zealand next year was made at a meeting of the management commite , the invitation being made on the same terms and conditions as those for the last Indian tour in 1935. If for any reason the Indian federation is unable to send a 'team it will be asked for permission to negotiate' with a Manavadar State team for a visit. The Prince of Manavadar was 'to have captained .the team which visited New Zealand in 1935, but was unable to niafaa -the trip because of illness. His secretary, Mr. Mahsud, is captain of he Stete team and was vice-captain of the 1935 team.
