INSURGENTS PRESSING ON

BILBAO THE GOAL DEATH AND DESTRUCTION Basques’ Desperate Resistance Press Association—Copyright. Received April 30, 1.5 p.m. London, April 29. General Mola’s troops are pressing on toward Bilbao, leaving a trail of death and destruction. They have occupied desolated Guernica, and have also encircled Durango, where they took over 1000 prisoners. The Basques are resisting desperately, dynamiting bridges and roads in order to hinder their pursuers. However, the insurgents confidently declare that they will occupy Bilbao on May 2, which is the anniversary of the Carlist seige of 1874.
