COLLAPSE IN BATH
DEATH OF HUIROA WOMAN Inquest Held This Morning The dea h of Mrs. A. H. Bowen, of Huiroa, occurred, last night at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. Teeofsky, jf Sole Road, Ngaer?, with vThom the had been spending a holiday for tiie fU&I 'three days. Mrs. Bowen wa a 'taken ill in the bathroom and died before the arrival of Dr. Steven. Shu had made no complaint of feeling unwell, and her death came as a great shock to her friends. She is survived by her husband. Ab ithe inquest held at Stanford this morning, a v:rdict of death from heart failure, in accordance with the medical testimony, was returned by the Coroner, Mr. W. L Kennedy, J.P. In evidence at the inquest. Dr. Striven. gave it as his opinion that the cause of dciath was syncope, 'the result of cardiac infliltration by fat, possibly precipitated by the shock of immersion in a hot bath. He-*had been informed that deceased had besn slimming by starvation, I and that her weight hiad been reduced Iby 211bs in six weeks.
