Grants for Special Areas in Britain. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby. April 21. The Commissioner of Special Areas has promised further substantial ?nan-ts to local authorities in special ■Areas toward schem .s undertaken by them on ‘the grounds of public health. The commissioner’s’ total confrnitmen’s at -the end of March were £10,712,000 including grants to assist industry, £3.058.000; for land settlem. nt, etc., £3,182,000; schemes necessary on the grounds of public lealth, £3,286,000; o‘her gra. s, £l,* 186,000.
