The jury returned a verdict of ac'‘idencal de-aih in ine Battersea electric train smash, which occurred on April 2. Eight people were killed and twenty injured when a collision o>ccuTi.hr between two electric Knatas on a viaduct. 'l'he Southern Railway Company intimated that it accepted full legal responsibility’’ for the victims. The signalman, in evidence said that, th’liking the instrument box was out of order, he broke the seal. He may have touched the wrong plunger, admitting the second train to the blocked sect on.
