YEAR’S WORK.

Technical High School. Old Pupils’ Association. The annual report of the Stratford High School Old PupilJ' Association, to be presented to the mooting ot lumbers this week, refers to the increated activity in association mutters, all of which tended to make th® past year most successful. The report of the executive states: The assete ot £24 Ils 2d. against £2B 7s 54 of last year show a decrease of £3 los 3d This is accounted for by an additional donation ot £2 to the Trimble Memorial Fund and presentations' amounting io £3 10s 6d. Thus on the actual year’s working there was a profit. During the yqa.r presentations were made to Misses M. Elgar and Miss M, McCluggage and Mr A. C. Walker, all of whom have done much valuable work in the interests of the association. Their absence from the district will be a material lost' to the executive. We havie to congratulate the EL tham branclf on further steady progress, and trust that further advancement will be made in this direction in the ensuing year. A donation bt £5 was made to the school library in accordance with the recommendultion of last year’s executive. A sum of £2 was donated: to a fund instituted tor the purpose of a memorial for the late Mr Harold Trimble. In the activities of the association, this executive made a* definite advancement on former programmes. In May the annual ball was held and was an outstanding success; the presentation of debutantes was made by Mrs Polson, to whom the executive records a debt of gratitude. The dance committee organised two dances during the season. A golf match was arranged bei-wten teams ot the T. Old Boys and New Plymouth High School Old Boys. Thia v.»s held on the Stratford links, and: was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The executive tru:.t« that this will become an annual event, as it is desirable to cement feilov.’ship with kindred associations. During the year, an attempt was 1 made to form a Cen.ra.l Council, but j nothing definl e was finalised. It it’ the opinion of the executive that such a council would be advantageous in streng hening the bonds between | branches. j At the instigation of members a team was ent red for the Stratford Dran’n Fet'lival and, under tho production of Mr Amess, a very creditable performance resulted. • An Innovation was instituted by the promotion of an Old Boys’ dina r in October. This was a great success and was enjoyed by a godd attendance of Old Boys. In December nn Old Pupils' re-union dinner Was held. The school staff were the guests ot the association, and o her branches and kindred associations were well repre.seinteil. The exicu’ive were ! gratified vv ith the support glveii by members at tills annual function. During the year resigOialt.long went) received, from Misses M. Elgar and M. MicCluggago and Mr A- C.
