Mrs. S. Pitt was a bridge hostess on Monday evening. * * * Mrs. Uniache also entertained friends at bridge on Monday. * * * Mrs. G. Stubbs, of New Plymouth, visited old friends here this weekend. r ■» * * Rehearsals for Milne’s “Great Broxopp" are going along merrily, everyone being very keen to put on a firstclass entertainment for the Coronation. * * * Mrs. Hall, senr., who has been visiting her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs W. J. Hall, Swansea Road, left on Monday morning for Wanganui, on her way to the South Island. * ■* * Mrs. D. J. Malone entertained members of the Portland Bridge Club on Monday afternoon at her residence in Miranda Street. She was wearing a very becoming Paris lace frock over silk, and the drawing-room was decorated with chrysanthemums and sweet peas. Those present were: Mesdames L. Jardine, S. Pitt, P. D. Jefferies, A. Coleman, L. Furrie, Heslopp, and Hugo.
