Plaza Theatre. "SMARTEST GIRL IN TOWN." A romance which begins on a yacht, carries through a series of hilarious adventures anid ends in a tirantp. chase down Mazda Lane in Manhatla offers the narrative for Gene Raymond and Ann Sothern’s new offering, “Smartest Girl in Town.” -thOK'ing- at the Plaza Theatre, to-night. Topping the two favourites’ previous hit, on Air,” in comedy situations and romantic momen s, the mad and merry movements of “Srnar’est. Girl in Town” start when Miss Soth rn, posing for a series of clothing adver iseriients aboard a palatial yacht, mistakes Raymond,, a young New York millionaire and owner of the yacht for a male model sent from the agency. He devis is an olabora'e plan to bring them conatan ly together, and despite her intentions to wed riches, she falls in love with him—and things, begin to happen,, leading up to the exciting climax. Woven into the story is. a delightful musical sequence.
King’s Theatre. "IHREE MARRIED MEN” ANU HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD.” Fast-moving comedy built around the wedding of a young couple—and the stumbling blocks put in their way by much-married iilaws, is funished in Paramount’s film farce, “Three Married men,” which will be shown at the King’s Theatre to-night. The picture has Lyiine Overman, William Frawley, Roscoe Karns and Mary Brian in- the,.leading rojes. Families of the young bride and groom are at odds when the day for the wedding ■rrives, and that fact docs not make the preparations for the cereinony my simpler. Both families ahi in making a minor quarrel into a major one, leading hrid and groom to: separate decisions to take trips, away from it all and from each other. "Hollywood Boulevard/’ starring John Hrlliday, on the same programme, tells of an egotistic actor who agrees to sill the story of his lovelife for another chance in a picture. The leading, feminine role is taken by Marsha Hunt.
