i INCREASED RECOGNITION Mayor’s Report On Municipal Conference. Reporting to the Stratford Borough 'i Council meeting last night on his atI tendance at the Municipal Conference, ! the Mayor, Mr. J. W. McMillan, said : the conference had been very success- • ful and the delegates had been most | hospitably entertained by the people j of Timaru. I It was pleasing, he said, to note ; that at last the Government was giv- ; ing some recognition to local body i work. I One remit passed advocated that i meat killed at the abattoirs should be ■ graded by the abattoir inspectors, and } it would probably be adopted by the j Government.
