Wellington, April 16. .Considerable progress l was made to-day at the national industrial Labour unity conferenjee v.'itb a new constitution for a Dominion-wide organisation of unions. If unity is achieved the sections and alliances within the Labour movement will disappear and the /new unified authority, tha New Zealand Federation of Labour, will stand supreme. Local administration will be conducted by district bodies ■Which will be responsible to the major organi sation. The sponsors of the conference claim that its main objective has been achieved with the creation of the federation, which is expected to eliminate factional strife.
