EJECTED BY APES.
VISITORS TO NEW YORK PARK. Claim for £15,000 Damages. Press Association—Copyright. New York, April 16. Mendel Picket, Mrs. Picket and their son Charles, aged 15, have filed a suit in the State Supreme Court for £15,000 damages against the Bronx Zoological Park for “injuries and indignities’’ in June, 1935, when a gorilla named Janet and a chimpanzee named Ellen forcibly ejected them from the monkey-house. The claimants alleged the apes near closing time suddenly appeared among the spectators. Charles was attempting to make his exit when Janet seized Mm and hurled him out violently, breaking his toe, which was later amputated. Ellen put Mrs. Picket out, warding off attempts by the husband to interfere. Mrs. Picket fainted.
