The South African Rugby Board has selected Nel as captain of the Springbok tea,m and Craven, vice-captain. The Selection Committee will consist of the captain and vicecaptain, together with M. M. Louw, Stratchan, and Brand, and the manager, or assistant manager, presiding without a vote. The choice of Nel and Craven will have the unqualified approval of all followers of the game in South Africa. Nel is quiet and reserved off the field, but a loan for work during play. He is a keen student of Rugby, and his advice carries great weight. He is certain to be immensely popular in New Zealand and Australia.
