DARTMOOR PRISON.
Prisoners’ Grievances. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, April 16. The Prison Commission has issued in official statement that the reports in -connection with -a series of incidents in Dartmoor prison, similar to vhose preceding til© meeting of 1932, are untrue. It appears' from the official statement that on two occasions this month a small number of prisoners made complaints about the food and in connection with these incidents five prisoners -commit, ed minor breaches of discipline. The cases wera reported and dealt with by the Governor or the Board or Visitors. Denials of the troubles are dis,count--3d by the fact that while regulations wpre issued a while ago withdrawing he' arm, s . and' batons of the prison guards, they are all now thus armed, while the staff on duty to-night has been trebled. It is stated that 300 prisoners had planned another mutiny .for Coronation Day. The trouble is understood to concern the quality and the quantity of the food.
