South Africa and Independence. Press Association—Copyright. Received 11.50 a.m. Cape Town, April 16. Before sailing to-day for England and the Coronation, General Hertzog issued a statement to the effect that South Africa would participate in the Coronation as an equal with the other independent States of the Commonwealth.
