BILLIARDS BANNED.
Boys Under 17 Barred. London, March 20. Boys under 17 are barred from the billiards halls of Carlisle. An order to this, effect was made by the City Magistrates. For the proprietors and- managers of the halls it was contended that the early ’teens' are just the time at which a boy wants to practise billiards. “You might send him to a lot of worse places,” said a solicitor for one of the halls.
