PURVEY CLIPPER.
ARRIVAL AT KINGMAN REEF. Second Stage of Return Flight. Press Association —CopyrigMAuckland, April 9. The tecond Ltage of her return Hight from Auckland to San Francis co was completed; tO'day by the PanAmerican survey clipper when she landed at Kingman Reef at approximately 4.30 in the afternoon, New Zealand time. The clipper took off at 5.16 a.m., and at 4.20 o’clock in the afternoon a wireless .message war received at Auckland which stated that Kingman Reef had been .sighted;. No further messagei’ were received from the clipper, but she would land about ten minutes after the final message was sent. The journey of 14.00 miles.' was completed in a'pul 11J hours. The clipper reported in the early stages of the .flight that she was make Ing particularly good .progress. The Sikorsky flew at about 8000 feet to 9000 feet until reaching the Equator, but. further north Captain Musick brought the ship down to 1800 feet and completed the flight at that alti tude below .clouds.
