Social and Personal. Mrs. Nolan has returned from a visit to Wellington. * * * Mrs. Stan Robinson, of Kaikohe, formerly of Stratford, is in town for a week or two. * * * Mrs Jervis and Miss Mullin, of Dunedin, are the guests of Mrs. Knewstubb, Swansea Road. * * * Miss Mary Walsh, Pembroke Road, is holiday-making with her si's ter, Mrs. L. Coley. * * * Mrs. Harding, of Napier, Is visiting her daughter, Mrs. V. Fookes. Brecon Road. * * * Mrs. K. Neal, Percy Avenue, gave an afternoon party on Wednesday. Among those present were: Mrs. It. Kirkwood and the Misses M. Lyons, M. Whittle, M Malone, B. and O. Masters, R. Furrie, and L. Penn. * * * A charming black ring velvet period frock was worn by Mrs N. O. Ebbett, Brecon Road, this afternoon, when she was “at home” to a number of friends. An artistic effect was noted in the drawing-room, which was charming with bowls of sweet peas and iceland poppies. Those present were: Mesdames A. H. R. Amess, F. Bodie, A. Morgan, A. G. McKenzie, Widen Bellringer, R. Carryer, L. Pope, V. Fookes, and Harding (Napier).
