Dangerous Spot.

Ths accident in the Sockburn Handicap on the first day of the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting, resulting in the death of the Oaks winner. Top Notch, appears to have occurred at the identical spot at which Vintage met his death during the previous meeting on the course. The j’udicial stewards subsequently inspected the spot, where a temporary fence is said to have been erected during alterations to the inside of the course proper, and then they found simply that the accident was the consequence of Arctic King’s swerving.
