SENTENCE REMISSIONS.

Defence Minister’s Announcement. Press Association —Copyright. Received 11.45 a.m. Sydney, April 8. The Minister of Justice announced to-day that remissions would be granted prisoners in New South Wales gaols in honour of the Coronation. Prisoners serving sentences not exceeding twelve months will receive a remission of 14 days, while those serving sentences exceeding a year will receive a remission of 14 days for the first year and seven days for each succeeding year.
