CHARITABLE AID QUESTION. Hospital Board Estimates Discussed. “We don’t want to be too hariih, but there is no necessity for the same amount for charitable aid," said Mr J. D. Law at a special meeting of the Stratford Hospital Board held, last night tor the purpose of framing estimates for the financial year. ‘There cannot be the poverty these times,” he added. Mr T. R. Anderson (chairman): I kno'.’t' there is not; there are not so many out of a job, but there is poverty. Mr N. H. Moss: There is also mit*fortune. Mr M. Gernhoefer said that the Board had appointed a sub-committee to go into the matter, and there were not a great many now on the Mrs M. T. Phillips: They are cropping up all the time.
