PLAYWRIGHTS DEATH
DISAPPEARED FROM LINER. VERDICT OF “FOUND DROWNED.” Steward’s Evidence at Inquest Press Association —Copyright. Received 11 a.m. London, April 6. The inquest was resumed to-day into the death of Mr. Frank Vosper, the noted actor and playwright, who disappeared from the liner Paris when it was travejlllng from New York to England. Accompanying Mr. Vosper were Miss Muriel Oxford, who was “Miss England of 1935,” and Mr. Peter Willes, the actor. Charles Garhon, the night steward, stated in evidence that he went to Miss Oxford’s stateroom at 2.45 a.m. When he entered Miss Oxford and Mr. Willes were lounging on the divan, and Mr. Vosper was standing in front of th‘ divan. Witness left the stateroom and returned five or six minutes later. Miss Oxford asked him if he had seen Mr Vosper, and then asked him to look for Mr. Vosper. The foreman -of the jury asked: “Had you heard any comment with regard to the close friendship between Mr Vosper and Mr Willes?” Garbon replied: "It does not interest the stewards. They take no notice of what Happens on a ship.” A verdict of “found drowned" was returned.
