Canberra, April .6 An official report on the incident in which an Australian patrol bopt warned Japanese pearl luggers oft an island in the Crocodile Group, states that the commander of the patrol boat Larrakia fired a machinegun across the bow of one lugger only after other signals had been disregarded. Mr. L. Giles, acting-Administrator of the Northern Territory, reports that th e whole affair was handled diplomatically. He asked the Federal Government for definite instructions, with regard to the treatment’ of Japanese pearlers apprehended in future.
